Bruce Wilson, Executive Director
Bruce Wilson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Northwestern University, with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. His experience being a high-risk youth in Chicago and a degree in psychology has encouraged him towards giving back to the community today. With family ties in Vermont, Bruce moved east, with the belief that he could make an impact on the youth and the growing diversity of Vermont. In 1999, Bruce founded Straight Talk Vermont with the help of the community, in order to work with the youth in connection with the Restorative Community Justice Center in Burlington. Bruce has continued to grow Straight Talk Vermont, which is now Service Rendered Inc., into a statewide organization, which strives to help individuals to reach their full potentials as part of a safe community.
Trish Blanchard, Finance Director
Trish’s love for youth and the passion to help them with their goals and aspirations inspired her to join Service Rendered in 2007. Her job as Finance Director is to keep Service Rendered Inc financially accountable for our office, youth centers, programs, projects and events. Trish is also the Secretary and Treasurer of Service Rendered Board of Directors. You will find Trish at all of Service Rendered youth events; youth around the state know and appreciate the work she does for them.
Amber Lokatys, Executive Assistant and Photographer
Amber Lokatys was born and raised in Morrisville, Vermont. She attended People’s Academy until she moved to South Burlington to join the Big Picture program at South Burlington High School, her main interest being photography. Her biggest accomplishment so far was traveling to San Ramon, Nicaragua, to take photographs of Planting Hope members. Her portraits will be published in the book In our Global Village. She has interned at Beltrami Studios and even in the dark rooms around UVM campus. Amber became the official photographer for Service Rendered and the Executive Assistant of Bruce Wilson in June of 2012.
Michael Gaffney, Development Director and Technology Director
Michael Gaffney is originally from Williston, Vermont but he has spent extensive time in Burlington and New York City. He has been volunteering with Service Rendered since he was twelve,when the Chill Out Centers were the Living Room. Back then, he wrote customized software to meet the needs of the Center, and maintained its hardware and software. Now, he also oversees the websites of Service Rendered and affiliates, and uses technology to help youth meet their goals. He is working to complete an undergraduate mathematics degree at Fordham University.
Ashley Goff, Assistant Director
Originally from the Bronx, Ashley moved to Burlington three years ago to attend the University of Vermont. A Sociology and Film Studies double major, she hopes to combine her passion for the arts with her interest in social work. She has interned at Symphony Space in New York City as the assistant to the Director of Theatre Operations. Her hobbies include reading, watercolor painting, and wandering. Ashley joined the Service Rendered team as Assistant Director in June 2014.
